BJ Upton, who collided into the shelter ray teammate Evan Longoria after lukewarm pursuit of a ball on Sunday, was not in the starting lineup for the game in Tampa Bay during the division rival Boston Tuesday evening.

Rays manager Joe Maddon said the club was mulling disciplinary action against Upton after he jogged casually for a ball in the left center field gap Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Upton has not reported any health issues recently, so it may be fair to suppose that Maddon is applying a slap on the wrist here.

Ben Zobrist was in center field, with Reid Brignac manning second base and Sean Rodriguez in right field for the Rays. More later on Maddon's decision.
