bay to breakers route

bay to breakers route
2010 Bay Breakers trip begins near the Embarcadero dupe Hayes Street Hill, which gives runners a little bit to get up a steep slope. Approximately 2.5-mile mark runners climb up 11.5% over the period of the Fillmore and Steiner grade, where they can reach the highest point race at 215 meters above sea levelFrom there on out, it's downhill along the Panhandle and through Golden Gate Park. Then, after 7.46 miles, it's over! But, the partying and fun doesn't really end once you've completed the course. There are floats, costumes, and likely even some naked people to watch when the hard part is done. The float route is different than the running route, naturally, but both wind up in about the same spot, so you don't have to go too far out of your way to check out all the action. The race started at 8am, so make sure to get out there soon to catch all the float action!Check out the full course info and map at the Bay to Breakers site here.
